About the opportunity
Reporting to the Group Manager Electrical Engineering, you will focus on providing calibration services for key instrumentation assets.

Based at our Te Rapa Site, this role will see you provide technical and commercial management of the Instrumentation Calibration Centre.

As the Calibration Centre Lead, you will be the asset owner of the calibration centre including flow rig, test instruments and ancillary assets.

Additionally, ensuring effective management of the calibration process for instrumentation including critical process instruments supporting Fonterra's standards for engineering and Food Safety and Quality.


Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Management of the instrumentation calibration including record keeping and provision of a central test equipment and emergency asset loan facility
  • Effective commercial management of the calibration centre processes including financial budgets
  • Contribute to, and develop, sustainability of instrumentation calibration capability in the calibration centre. Support the development of Standards for assets containing and/or relating to instrumentation
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally to deliver the calibration needs of Fonterra and support the development of innovative solutions for complex technical problems
  • Engage with contractors and supervise staff when required.

About you

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • A good understanding of the function, operation and standards relating to industrial assets
  • Experience in calibration of instrumentation equipment
  • Strong leadership and contract management experience
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and influencing skills
  • Experience managing engineering change in complex industrial environments would be highly beneficial
  • Tech savvy and computer skills including knowledge of database systems, ideally in SAP and CMX.

Registration with the Electrical Workers Registration Board and a National Diploma Engineering in Instrumentation / Electrical field would be preferred, also trade certificate qualified instrumentation technicians with strong relevant experience will also be considered.
