The Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for providing the following technical expertise to all departments within the QC Laboratory:

  • Design, lead and review validation processes and studies;
  • Provide strategic direction for the laboratory equipment, instrument calibration and maintenance programme;
  • Improve investigations by providing technical insight;
  • Impart technical knowledge and drive test method optimization;
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies, methods, equipment and automation;
  • Analyse data to provide recommendations for improvement;
  • Perform routine and nonroutine testing as required.

Knowledge:

  • Test methods and equipment used in the dairy industry;
  • Understanding of ISO 17025 and IANZ accreditation requirements;
  • A tertiary qualification in Food Science, Chemistry and/or Microbiology.

Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in validation processes & procedures;
  • Laboratory equipment procurement, calibration and maintenance;
  • Reviewing and implementing new technology/methods.

Essential Qualifications Required:

  • Tertiary science qualification preferably in Food Science, Chemistry and/or Microbiology.
This is a Monday - Friday position. Some overtime may be necessary.
