About the OpportunityReporting to our Services Team Lead, you will provide higher level technical resource within the Services team. A particular focus will be maintaining database, platform, performance, and stability of supported systems.

Your natural ability to fix issues in an IT environment will be paramount, you will then be able to ensure multiple systems and process are in-tact across a busy manufacturing environment as well as offer innovative ways of working.

With a mix of skills spanning testing, release, deployment & mentoring this role will give you true diversity.

A few more responsibilities will include:

  • Extend the Manufacturing system, providing leadership and guidance, to ensure the quality of services delivered.
  • Assist analysis and design discussions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, and prototypes.
  • Supporting a range of technologies across the automation and manufacturing environment
  • Work across testing, deployment and quality
  • Manage and maintain databases within the environment.
  • Assist the development of new functionality for future Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Assist in the deployment of the Manufacturing initiatives throughout Fonterra.

About You


The gem we are looking for is someone who has a strong technical bent, experience supporting a range of technologies with the ability to mentor & ensure systems are running to capacity and effectively.

Communication & relationship management is key in this role, as you'll be working closely with a wide variety of stakeholders from site leaders to IT teams.

You will have a passion for adopting emerging technologies and an appetite for continuous learning.

A few skills we will be looking for include:

  • Tertiary qualification in computer science, IT or similar discipline
  • Skills in an engineering/manufacturing environment, with experience in MOM systems
  • Experience working in an endtoend lifecycle to include testing, deployment and release.
  • Experience working in a Linux environment.
  • Database experience in MS SQL and/or IBM Informix
  • Risk and issue monitoring and resolution
  • Strong mentoring skills
  • Experience in control systems, PLC layers is highly advantageous.
  • Experience with web servers like nginx and Apache and can maintain and update them as needed.
  • Experience with proxy servers, inter server communications and how to problem solve them.
  • Has a strong background in Informix DB or SQ
  • Able to find /maintain/resolve server security issues.
  • Able to work in a challenging environment.
