The Role:


Reporting to Value Stream Leader, you will use your Engineering skills to ensure products and processes comply with Cryovac and Customer specifications.

You will support the implementation of process/product changes, process improvements, and new product and equipment introductions.

You will have experience gained in the FMCG or food packaging markets.

To ensure success you will have strong interpersonal skills, a genuine customer focus, be competent in analysing and understanding customer expectations, structured problem solving experience and possess well developed planning and communication skills (oral and written).

Computer skills in Excel and PowerPoint are also required.

Qualifications/certifications:

Engineering or Technical degree, Six Sigma Training, exposure to Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) and Root cause analysis (RCA)

Use Engineering skills to ensure products and processes comply with Cryovac and Customer specifications. Implement process/product changes, process improvements, and new product introductions. To gain in depth product and process understanding as a basis for further promotional opportunities.

Provide technical assistance to all New Zealand manufacturing sites as required.

Job Description:

Lead safety assessments and follow through on the implementation of recommendations for new equipment and procedures. Co-operate with the company to comply with Acts, Regulations and company safety policies.

With the guidance of T&I, plan and execute raw material substitutions within your area, including coordination of subsequent testing of new product introduction or existing product modification trials on manufacturing equipment.

Ensure DVP&R is signed by customers before commercial launch.
Lead cross functional teams to manage and implement medium to large projects.

Projects will include but not limited to product development, machinery up grades & commissioning, process development and refinement, SOCs & SOPs development.

Customer technical support for new / modified product introductions or product performance issues.

Using LEAN and Six Sigma methodology and a close liaison with operations, lead cross functional teams to deliver measurable rate and yield improvement within your area.

Troubleshooting technical processing issues when operator experience exhausted.
Develop SOC's for new products and processes and optimise SOC's to improve rate and yield on existing products
Implement process control methods and conduct process capability studies
Write training materials and deliver training. Qualifications
Ability to participate in and lead multi-disciplinary teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities on an ongoing basis.
Ability to communicate clearly at all levels of the organization.
A high level of personal organization to allow success in a fast-moving and demanding environment.
Able to travel for short / periods of time, intrastate/interstate/overseas.
4 year Engineering or Technical degree
Six Sigma Training - Green or Black belt etc
Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA)
Root cause analysis (RCA)
