We are looking for a digital channel specialist to join our Communications and Engagement team in our Strategy, Governance and Engagement branch.

This is a 12 month fixed term position based in our Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) office.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

This is a great opportunity to share your knowledge and expertise as you take the Commission on a digital journey.

You will provide both strategic and tactical digital communications advice and support to the organisation to ensure our digital channels, particularly our website, are accurate, secure and future focused.

While your day to day focus will be managing our website (using the Squiz CMS) and mentoring team members, you will also be called upon to showcase your digital expertise to support a wide range of communications and engagement projects and campaigns.

Ideally, you will be just as interested in content creation, with a sharp eye for editing, as you are in the back end of a content management system or implementing a new content management process.

Excellent relationship skills and project management experience are both vital in this role as you will be working with multiple stakeholders across our branches, as well as managing relationships with our external providers.

You will be lucky enough to report to our Principal Adviser, Communications, an engaging manager who values diversity of thought, is focused on developing and growing her team, and is always open to new ideas and ways of working.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience and knowledgeof website content management systems, particularly the Squiz CMS, google analytics, social measurement tools etc
  • An understanding of what makes a successful digital function, and related experience to back this up
  • High attention to detail
  • A process mind, with a focus on solutions
  • The ability to self manage and to bring ideas to the table
  • Strong project management experience
  • Excellent relationship skills
