As the Strategic Lead, Cyber Defence Operations, you will play a pivotal role in protecting New Zealand's information infrastructure from advanced cyber threats.

You will be at the forefront of developing and aligning the cyber defence operations strategy with national priorities. Your influence will extend to key stakeholders, ensuring a cohesive approach within the broader government cybersecurity ecosystem. You will take the lead in engaging with agencies and shaping system settings to achieve effective operational outcomes.

Who are we looking for?

You have a demonstrated ability to operate under pressure and be resilient, along with excellent leadership and communication skills. You also have proven experience in influencing others at all levels of an organisation.

Ideally you will have:

  • Extensive experience in cybersecurity, with a proven track record of successfully managing and communicating complex cyber security issues at a system and strategic level.
  • Experience with strategic and tactical work programs.
