The Stakeholder Engagement Lead exemplifies relationship and communication mastery, providing Defence Digital Group (DDG) with central communication and engagement capability to optimise engagement throughout DDG and NZDF.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Head of Communications and Engagement in leading and managing the communications and engagement function as appropriate. This includes supporting and embedding desired ways of working;
  • Being responsible for leading internal communications via a team of two internal communication advisors; and
  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders across NZDF within the comms and engagement community of practice.

To be successful you will have:

  • Strong knowledge of communication and engagement frameworks and channels;
  • Proven leadership abilities working with a variety of individuals to achieve strategic outcomes;
  • Excellent written communications skills with the confidence and ability to interact effectively and influence at all levels;
  • Proven ability to interpret complex / technical information and present it in plain English and to use other visual formats to present to a range of audiences; and
  • Knowledge and experience of proactively supporting delivery and outcomes in a dynamic, deadlinedriven environment.

- most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years, OR
- is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.
