About the role
You will thrive working at Palmerston North Retirement Village.

Flourishing in a beautiful setting you will take pleasure ensuring that the maintenance for our village and care home are at a high standard.

This is a fixed term position working 20 hours per week - the fixed term contract is from 29th April 2024 and finishes on the 15th June 2024.


Duties Include:

  • Provide general maintenance services to our residents in our Village and Care Home assisting with the maintenance of a comprehensive range of village facilities.
  • Responsible for ensuring Health and Safety standards are met and maintained on site.
  • Take responsibility in liaising with residents daily to understand and problem solve any general maintenance issues on site.
  • Aids the grounds staff and undertakes general gardening tasks from time to time as and if required.
  • Drive site vehicles including minibus as required

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Excellent problemsolving skills with strong time management.
  • Ability to prioritise your workload to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Experience in a similar role preferred
  • Confidence and ability to use hand tools, power tools and to operate maintenance machinery.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal & strong customer service skills.
  • Full Driver License
