The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahiAt Waka Kotahi (the NZ Transport Agency), it all starts with our people, and we are eager to recruit a Senior Programme Analyst into our team.

This role, Senior Programme Analyst - SH Maintenance, is responsible for the provision of high-quality reporting and insights about the performance of state highway maintenance programme.

You'll be responsible for data analysis & interrogation, modelling against strategic and operational performance framework, and developing dashboards to understand network condition and levels of service.

This is an exciting opportunity to utilise your data analytical skills, providing high quality support to our state highways maintenance, renewals and operations programme.

As well as being accountable for the Waka Kotahi values and behaviours, your role has the following specific key accountabilities:

  • Design and presentation of fit for purpose dashboards, and contribute to shaping evidencebase interventions to improve Waka Kotahi and our supplier's performance
  • Use the data information available for drawing comparison and conclusions on the proposed programmes to maintain, renew and operate New Zealand state highway network supporting the Maintenance and Operations team's prioritisation of these programmes.
  • Manage quarterly and annual reporting of the Statement Performance Expectations (SPE) measures for maintenance, renewals and operational activities within the state highways
  • Improving road asset management through development of solutions for identified information and reporting needs
  • Supporting continuous improvement and monitoring of data quality, including knowledge sharing, providing insights and technical support to maintenance and operation team
  • Prepare detailed and insightful reports on analytics and behaviours, in a professional and concise manner utilising excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • A relevant tertiary qualification preferably with an applied management or performance management component
  • Experience in the undertaking and delivery of complex data analysis
  • Competence in a wide range of MS analytical tools
  • The ability to confidently engage with executives and senior leaders
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • An understanding of financial processes that support programme achievement
