About the job

Casual Electrical Commissioning Assistant:

  • As a casual commissioning assistant, your role is to assist the project manager, commissioning engineer and subcontract electricians in completing their tasks.
  • The main task is actively connecting and disconnecting plugs from charging infrastructure into electric vehicles during the commissioning process. You attend to various tasks under instruction from the commissioning engineer and remotely located communication software engineers reporting on equipment status. You should be comfortable dealing with IT equipment and routers to check status, conduct resets etc.
  • On occasions, they respond to urgent afterhour call outs to reset overnight charging equipment.

Key attributes:

  • Strong eye for detail.
  • Construction safety passport (we will provide training if the person does not have).
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions and set processes.
  • After hours, work between 7.00pm till up to midnight "as required".
  • Experience working in the electrical industry with hand tools and own transport highly regarded.
  • Work well in a team environment and on occasions unsupervised.
  • Drivers Licence is preferred.

Other essential requirements:

  • We are looking for someone finishing their 3rd or 4th year of an Engineering degree (Electrical or Mechanical).
  • The role will be for 34 weeks initially and as required after. Offering exposure to the battery energy storage and electric vehicle industry. We are hoping to find someone that we could potentially work with long term after graduation.
