We are delighted to be appointing three Faculty Managers in the following areas:

  • Te Kaupeka Pūtaiao | Faculty of Science (permanent)
  • Te Kaupeka Pūhanga | Faculty of Engineering (permanent)
  • Te Kaupeka Ako | Faculty of Education and Te Kaupeka Oranga | Faculty of Health (supporting both Faculties 2 year fixedterm)

Mahi Ngātahi | Who You Will Work With

This is an exciting opportunity to work inside Faculties, but also with a team of Faculty Managers to further develop the operations that support the University's academic mission, in pursuit of its Strategic Plan.


In the Faculties you will work with the Executive Dean and the Faculty Leadership Team members, including Heads of Schools, Associate Deans and other Faculty leaders.


You will have line management responsibilities for some of the Professional Staff in the Faculty but this varies by portfolio.


Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

The Faculty Manager is a key professional leader who partners with a Faculty's Executive Dean to ensure the effective and efficient leadership, management, and development of Faculty-wide operational activity.


This includes financial management of the Faculty, co-development of strategic plans and translation to annual operational plans, ensuring alignment of the operational and administrative services to the Faculty's teaching & learning and research strategic needs.

In this capacity, you will act as a business adviser to the Executive Dean, Academic Heads, and the Faculty Leadership Team.


Through the development of strong relationships, you will manage the interface between service units and the Faculty, agreeing the standards and delivery of shared and embedded services to ensure excellent, streamlined and timely services.

The Faculty Manager is a member of the Faculty Leadership Team and Faculty Board(s) relevant to their portfolio.

Additionally, Faculty Managers will work together with the Director of Faculty Operations to ensure UC has consistent and optimal business processes across faculties.
