The Ministry for Primary Industries are currently recruiting for a National Facilities Adviser to join our Property & Assets directorate which is part of our Corporate Services branch based in Wellington.

Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role

As National Facilities Adviser, you will work closely with the National Facilities Manager to support the management of MPI's property portfolio.

You will be a point of contact for both internal and external customers and provide support and information to them as required.


The key accountabilities of this position include:

  • Oversee the day-to-day facilities operational requirements for the Wellington CBD sites
  • Maintain a preventative maintenance plan for the Wellington CBD sites and across the MPI property portfolio to ensure the buildings run smoothly
  • Carry out any Wellington inhouse relocations with the assistance of the National Facilities Manager
  • Ensure that all Wellington colocated sites meet operational business requirements
  • Working with the National Facilities Manager to support budget management and project implementation
  • Managing the CMMS system, including receiving work request, assigning work orders, entering system data, and providing the overall system administration
  • Provide data and information analysis to support identification of opportunities for improvement and decision making.
Mōu - About You

To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience in facilities management, ideally from within the public sector or a large and high-profile facility.

Your technical experience will include systems reporting and management, good experience with MS Office products including Project, Word, and PowerPoint, and strong knowledge of the commercial property environment including asset management, facilities management, and building compliance.

You will have great interpersonal and communication skills, (both written and verbal) and be highly organised with the ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously.
