About this role

As part of an established, regional consulting team of around 20 people, this role will be working on a range of New Zealand and international assignments in the energy and renewable power sector.

Projects range from small scale generation to utility sized generation.

Technology would cover biomass, solar PV, battery energy storage, offshore wind, pumped hydro energy storage, hydrogen and waste to energy (thermal and biological).

Relevant workstreams would cover lender technical advisory, renewable energy studies, and front-end engineering design.

What will I do?

  • You will work without supervision, referring up as necessary. In achieving this you will be responsible for meeting deadlines, monitoring budgets and controlling expenditure to meet financial targets in your own area;
  • You will represent Arup at internal and external events and you may be responsible for designing and delivering events, activities and projects which impact the business;
  • You may be responsible for the performance and development of others through providing guidance, training, direction and feedback

What will I bring?

  • Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in mechanical engineering or similar area;
  • Relevant industry experience in power systems, solar PV, hydrogen, battery energy storage, pumped hydro, lenders technical due diligence, project management, project proposals, within a consulting business environment;
  • Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership;
  • Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines
  • Enthusiasm to develop technical and commercial knowledge outside of thermal generation sector by working on projects in the renewables, waste & resources and utilities sectors would be advantageous.
