What you will be doing


This is a senior nursing position within the nursing team, where you will be working alongside another Nurse Educator, The Nursing Advisor, and the Nursing Workforce Development Coordinator.


The Nurse educator facilitates, and coordinates services designed to prepare and support the general practice and primary healthcare nursing workforce.

The focus is that of mentorship, coaching, clinical skills, and targeted education that promote high quality equitable healthcare across general practice and the broader Canterbury Health system.

This is a part-time position working 20 hours per week.

Working hours are between Monday to Friday and there is the ability to have some flexibility around the working hours.


What you will bring

  • NZ Registered Nurse
  • Current NZ annual practising certificate
  • A relevant nursing or population health qualification (or equivalent) or working towards one.
  • 5 years current or recent experience in General Practice primary healthcare setting
  • Current immunisation qualification
  • Proficient with patient management systems and intermediate IT skills
  • Demonstrated commitment and established connections to Māori, Pasifika, and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) health
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire nurses towards change
