As a
Vegetation Supervisor, you will demonstrate excellent communication skills and a sharp attention to detail.

You will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and managing deliveries with the teams, with the role being equally divided between office and field work.

You will spend half your time working directly with the team, providing operational level crew management and ongoing mentoring. Reporting to the Vegetation Supervisor, this position will be based at our Hamilton Depot.

  • The key responsibilities for the Vegetation Supervisor position include, but are not limited to:_
  • Estimating vegetation work in the Hamilton area
  • Prioritising upcoming work from the data
  • Scheduling a detailed 1month plan and a rolling 4 month plan
  • Ensuring all paperwork meets the requirements
  • All staff and work are compliant with all regulations
  • Liaising with client, internal staff, crew and other stakeholders
  • Attending internal and external meetings
  • Maintaining accurate and uptodate systems and data
  • Report writing and meeting high H&S standards

What we're looking for?

  • To be successful in this role, you will also have some of the following skills:_
  • Relevant trade qualifications with current practicing licenses are required
  • Familiarity with pertinent Codes of Practice, Policies, Standards, Work Procedures, and Legislative requirements
  • Uptodate Workplace Competency (WTC) as per role demands
  • Minimum of 5 years postqualification experience with proven team leadership skills
  • Strong background in vegetation cutting
  • Ability to accurately price the work, scope where required, and allocate vegetation resources.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the transmission network, especially regarding vegetation.
  • Fieldbased experience is an advantage and keen attention to detail.
  • Problemsolving and analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to analyse information and data
  • Working knowledge of current Northpower and Transpower systems would be an advantage
  • Proficient computer skills with intermediate knowledge of the MS Office suite, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels, including with clients.
