Mō te tūnga | About the role
The Urology Service Administration team schedule and manage clinics for six services.

Every day in Urology is different with administration staff assisting the SMO and Nursing team to manage/book outpatient clinics that will be held in this facility.

As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claim settlement this role has been mapped to National Band 4/Profile 4A

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing great service and direction to customers, staff and whānau
  • Professional timely service
  • All aspects of administration task including typing a range of medical documents, both written and Dictaphone.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Answering department telephone on rostered days
  • Support Front of House staff when required

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

This role requires the following:

Essential:

  • Experience in Dictaphone typing
  • Excellent customer service skills people focused
  • Excellent organisational, time management and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to achieve accuracy and maintain attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work unsupervised
  • A team player Intermediate to advanced user in the Microsoft suite of products e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel
  • Excellent keyboard skills
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated perceptiveness and a proactive approach in an administrator role.

Desired:

  • Broad administrative experience in a healthrelated field
  • Knowledge of medical terminology (optional)
  • Good English spelling and grammar
  • Familiarity with the public hospital system (including the patient management system)
  • Awareness of people of differing cultural backgrounds.
