Are you Hamilton City Councils' next Wastewater Treatment Plant Team Leader What does a day in this job look like? Reporting to the Process and Operational Technology Manager, as Wastewater Treatment Plant Team Leader your role will provide leadership of the plant and team to optimise plant operation at the Water and/or Wastewater Treatment Plants and Reservoirs.

Leading the team, you will ensure a quality operation runs smoothly and at optimum levels while ensuring a work culture of high employee engagement, best practice safety and continuous training and development.

Liaising with co-workers and the wider organisation, you will be a key point of contact on-site at the plant.
Some of the key deliverables forthis role include: Providing team leadership, support, expertise, guidance, advice, and coaching.
Lead team performance and engagement through effective 1:1 meeting, development planning, succession planning and team culture management.
Manage rostering, on-call activities, staff retention and people-related processes to ensure plant requirements are met.

Ensure that operator resources are scheduled and available to appropriately meet the requirements and priorities including those detailed by the maintenance planning and process engineer specifications for planned works.

Out of hours and on call work is appropriately undertaken with an on-call Operator responding and initiating actions in response to all operational alarms within 10 minutes of alarm being received and if necessary be on site within 30 minutes.

Lead opportunities for continuous improvement, training, upskilling, cross-training, and learning and development.
For this role you must have: Excellent leaderships skills BSc or BE (Chemical and/or Process).
National Diploma in Water and/or Wastewater Treatment.
Minimum of 5 years in a process and operational management environment.
A good knowledge of water/wastewater treatment systems.
Project management knowledge.
Knowledge of computers and control systems.
Proven ability to develop and implement sound operational processes and procedures.

Experience in management of Safety and Quality systems and processes including proven ability to identify, evaluate and effectively manage risk.

Current full New Zealand drivers' licence.

It would be advantageous if you held any of the following: Management Diploma or Certificate, Risk Management Qualification, PLC/SCADA and Control qualification, SCADA and Telemetry and Control System Management, National Certificate in Reticulation, Water and Wastewater distribution system management experience.
