Looking to join a collaborative and high performing data and analytics department? Look no further An opportunity has come up in our Data, Statistics and Analytics department for a Statistical Analyst.

This vacancy is open to both Wellington and Auckland based candidates. Please note if you are Auckland based you will be expected to travel to Wellington on occasion as required.

Te tūranga - The role
The Statistical Analyst, Deposit Takers Statistics reports to the team Manager. The Statistical Analyst is primarily responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing, analysing and insights on our regular banking surveys. We also encourage continuous enhancement of existing surveys, as well as providing expertise and input to larger development projects across the department and organisation.

We pride ourselves on providing great analytical written reports to our data users. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and will collaborate effectively within and across departments. This will enable them to contribute to the department's work programme and to allow our internal and external stakeholders to obtain maximum value from data and statistics.

To be successful in one of these roles you'll bring:

  • A tertiary qualification and/or experience in data, economics or finance
  • A passion for data and a willingness to learn and develop
  • Relationship management skills and experience working with a range of people
  • Exposure to, or experience using tools for designing, building, and/or analysing dataAn ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
