The opportunity |'Te Whiwhinga mahi We have a 6-month opportunity for a Practice Lead Project Management to join our System Design team.

This is a key leadership role where you will support and contribute to the successful design and delivery of improvements to the transport system by developing and maintaining a strong and effective team of high performing professional project management specialists.

You'll focus on uplifting and embedding Project Management capability across Transport Services to focus on best practice and delivery excellence.

This is a vital leadership role which collaborates across Waka Kotahi to build, manage, and maintain key relationships to ensure the best outcomes for projects and organisational objectives.

About you | Ko koe tēnei You are an adept communicator, possessing exceptional relationship building skills capable of leading, influencing and building credibility with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

You'll be a proven leader with sound people management experience comfortable in leading high performing teams coupled with proactivity and a genuine passion for continuous improvement and performance.

In addition, you'll bring the below skills to ensure your success in this key opportunity:

  • Experience leading project management, including programme, financial and risk management
  • Demonstrated ability to work across a large complex organisation forming key influential relationships with internal and external senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills and experience
  • Demonstrated experience in growing and developing team members
  • Proven experience in establishing, implementing and maintaining professional career pathways
  • Indepth knowledge and understanding of effective project/programme delivery strategies, practices and principles
