Te Uepū Matihiko | Digital delivers services across the Ministry and an expanding portfolio of services to the sector to support the safe and effective delivery and administration of educational services.
Mō tēnei tūranga | About this roleThe Manager of Practice Management is accountable for the technical capability and capacity to deliver the Ministry's Digital Transformation Strategy.
- Lead practice development for the organisation across all digital practices.
- Build and develop high performing capability in architecture, analysis and design, development, testing, engineering, project and product management practices and that of the Practice Management Team itself.
- Ensure Digital has the resource capacity and capability to deliver the Digital Product Roadmaps and the Digital Programme of Work through a combination of internal and external sourcing arrangements.

We're looking for a highly dedicated individual who has broad technical knowledge and leadership experience across a range of digital practices with a deep understanding of nurturing high performing cultures.
You will also demonstrate:- People and operational leadership experience in a complex digital environment.
- Proven technical knowledge across architecture, analysis and design, development, testing, engineering and project and product management.
- Experience building and leading high performing inclusive and diverse teams creating a respectful, open and responsive culture.
- Commercial and management experience across a large internally and externally resourced team.
- Knowledge of government and public sector processes.
- Knowledge and handson experience working with both predictive projects and adaptive/agile ways of working and product and service delivery using various methods (such as PMBOK, Scrum, Kanban)
- Experience in developing and delivering integrated functional strategies, work programmes and budgets.
- Experience in leading and managing the development, implementation and ongoing monitoring of functional systems, frameworks and processes.
At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whanau.
To better deliver on this, we are currently undergoing an organisational design change. The transition phase to improve the way we deliver our purpose will be complete in 2023.For additional information on the changes we are embarking on, please visit here.
