You will be working as part of a small team to monitor security and performance of our internal health systems as part of the Defence Health Directorate with New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF).

This role will help assist with upgrades, maintain documentation, deliver reports, and engage and train all health system users and stakeholders.


A typical day could include:

  • Being the first point of contact for all queries regarding the health systems;
  • Delivering training to system users and developing training documentation;
  • Monitoring the systems' performance and supporting the resolution of operational problems;
  • Maintaining technical documentation using appropriate document management standards, to ensure they are accurate and up to date;
  • Building and maintaining relationships with health systems users and stakeholders; and
  • Developing and delivering reports with emphasis on maximising the capability of the organisation.

Please note:

This role will be required to participate in an on-call roster.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience

You will be an experienced IT administrator or a recent graduate with an IT background, who is familiar with monitoring and supporting technical systems.

You will have a strong customer service focus with the ability to engage with a variety of users and stakeholders to ensure they understand requirements.


You will also have:

  • Effective organisational skills including ability to manage multiple priorities;
  • An inquisitive mind with the ability to solve problems logically and remain agile to changing priorities;
  • Strong relationship management and engagement skills, ideally with experience providing training;
  • Good written ability with a keen eye for details; and
  • An ability to pick up new processes and systems quickly.
