At Manatū Hauora - Ministry of Health we are the kaitiaki of the health system, providing leadership and driving strategy and performance. We regulate the health sector and are the primary source of advice on health matters.
The Regulation & Monitoring Directorate is responsible for leading the delivery of two of Manatū Hauora's primary roles - system monitoring and regulation. These two roles work together to ensure the delivery of high-quality and safe services that meet government and ministerial expectations.
Ko ake mahi - What you'll do
You will lead the System Monitoring team to develop and implement a strategic, system-level approach to monitoring health and the collective performance of health entities. You will establish the Ministry's formal quarterly monitoring and reporting processes for the health system, develop advice for Ministers on risks and opportunities, and support your staff in coordinating the various Ministry teams responsible for specific monitoring functions. Additionally, you will sponsor the identification and execution of priority projects and analyses, enabling the Ministry to gain deeper insights into system performance and risks.

- Proven experience in system and performance monitoring, with senior-level expertise in the health system and government operations
