About the Role


As the WebClient Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in the formation and development of a new team at MEGA, focusing on a variety of exciting yet-to-be-built features for the organisation.

Your role will involve overseeing all stages of the web development process, from design and development to debugging and optimization.

A significant part of your responsibilities will also include conducting thorough technical and code reviews to ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure code.


Key responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in the hiring process for the new Web Developer team, collaborating with HR and hiring managers to identify and recruit toptier web engineering talent.
  • Facilitate the onboarding and integration of new team members, providing guidance and support throughout their transition
  • Leading and managing the team, driving performance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Facilitating communication between the web development team and other teams such as Content, Design and QA
  • Conducting code and technical reviews, ensuring all code delivered by the team is clean, robust, scalable and meets a high development standard
  • Refining our engineering guidelines and processes based on insights gathered from code reviews and team performance and the wider industry as a whole

About You
You are a technical people leader with a passion for the industry and a robust background in web development.

You have a keen eye for detail, high standards for code quality, and a strong ability to review and improve others' work.

You enjoy sharing your knowledge and are skilled in leading a productive team. You are a proactive problem solver with strong mentoring skills and a knack for motivating others.

Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in web development, with a strong focus on Vanilla JavaScript / jQuery /
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role
  • Experience with Agile methodologies or working in an Agile environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; proficiency in verbal and written English is essential
