As the Head of Data & Analytics, you have the job of creating and executing Lotto NZ's data strategy, which should be closely connected to the overall business strategy and focused on achieving business goals.

You'll be responsible for ensuring data is managed as a strategic asset and maximum value is realised from all aspects of data.

Your team:

As a senior leader within the business, you will get the opportunity to develop and lead multiple teams of data specialists to ensure all aspects of data, analytics and AI are leveraged whilst working closely with the executive and senior leadership teams.

The role will oversee 3 specialist teams focused on Data Engineering, Data Science, and Digital Analytics whilst having direct management of the insights and data storytelling capability ensuring data driven decision making is part of the DNA of Lotto NZ.

Your day-to-day:
  • Develop and own a digital analytics roadmap that supports delivery of Lotto NZ's business and digital strategies.
  • Present findings and recommendations to a broad range of audiences at all levels of the organisation and lead discussions with senior management
  • Ensuring data storytelling is accessible and proactive insights are delivered to the business highlighting key insights.
  • Through proactive leadership, lead an engaged and high performing team including ensuring they have the understanding, skill, capability, and commitment necessary to achieve excellence.
  • Implement, evolve, and deliver the enterprise data strategy that aligns with the overall business plan.
  • Develop and implement a data governance framework in conjunction with the technology team.
  • Ensure Lotto NZ has fit for purpose platforms and architecture in place to capture, store and make data available to the business.
  • Have an AI and advanced analytics roadmap in place that aligns business strategy with clearly defined initiatives.
A bit about you:
  • Strong foundation in data analysis, data management, data modelling and data visualisation
  • Proven ability to align data and analytics initiatives with the organisations overall business goals and strategy
  • Experience managing and leading a data & analytics team, fostering a positive work environment and promoting continuous learning
  • Familiarity with tools and technologies such as SQL, Python, Data Bricks, Data Factory, Azure, Power BI
  • Experience leading data teams.
  • Have a degree in Data Science or other relevant fields
  • Be confident in presenting findings / recommendations and leading discussions with senior leadership.

This is a full-time role. The hours of work will be primarily 08:30am - 05:30pm Monday - Friday.

We have a hybrid model; you will be working from our Corporate HQ in Newmarket and can spend some time working remotely.
