About the Role

To provide data warehouse analysis and expertise to support business initiatives and information reporting needs. The purpose of this role is to design, build, operationalise, secure and monitor data pipelines and data stores.

The role involves working with the Data Architect and Data Analysts to model implementation options and build technical solutions that meet business requirements.

The role also produces, tests and tunes code to agreed standards, meeting both functional and non-functional requirements.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Designs, implements and maintains complex data engineering solutions to acquire, prepare and present data.
  • Applies data engineering standards and tools to create and maintain data pipelines and extract, transform and load data.
  • Plans and drives the development of data engineering solutions ensuring that solutions balance functional and nonfunctional requirements.
  • Contributes to organisational policies, standards and guidelines for data engineering.
  • Ensures adherence to technical strategies and architectures.
  • Applies knowledge of software development lifecycle and testing practices.
  • Carries out Unit testing.

What we are looking for:

The position holder will have:

Technical

  • Experience utilising MS SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS and SSAS
  • Experience directing database development testing efforts
  • Experience in writing tSQL queries and stored procedures
  • Experience in developing packages using SSIS
  • Good understanding of SSAS and SSRS
  • Experience in developing and managing SSAS cubes
  • Experience in developing and managing SSRS reports
  • Advanced tuning skills
  • Experience using Agile principles and techniques

The salary range for this position starts from $80,426 up to $94,619 depending on demonstrable skills and experience.
