The RSC Business Development unit is looking for a new team member to support the growing needs of the team and the company.

The team provides a vital role through its engagement and relationship building with existing and new clients, alignment with our key partners, development of new services and contribution to the wider company growth strategy.

The role interacts internally with our consulting, contracting, and support teams (business services, corporate, finance and marketing) daily and with team members, clients, potential clients and partners across the world.


The Role

This opportunity would suit someone with a minimum 2-5 years' mineral industry or geosciences experience in a technical or commercial role, including those returning to the workforce.

Ideally, we are seeking someone with these criteria:

  • Good understanding of key exploration methodologies, resource geology and mining techniques.
  • Good understanding of exploration and mining data, terminology, and processes.
  • Good understanding of the mineral sector value chain.
  • Good understanding of most of the common mineral systems.
  • Knowledgeable/informed about minerals sector market trends.
  • Energetic; enjoys a variety of tasks and can juggle competing priorities.
  • Tertiary educated to at least a bachelor's degree level.
  • Excellent at writing, editing and proofreading.
  • A good listener and a confident communicator.
  • In possession of excellent organisational and planning abilities.
  • A competent user of Microsoft Office products.
  • Someone who enjoys relationship building or wants to develop these skills further.

This role will include, but will not be limited to, the following tasks:

  • Client/prospective client engagement and management.
  • Attending client or prospective client meetings as required.
  • Preparing proposals, tenders and presentations for current or prospective clients.
  • Providing support across RSC's broader business development and marketing activities.
  • Research or investigation of possible new services, products, and clients.
  • Assisting with minor consulting or corporate work tasks from time to time.

As familiarity with the business grows, it is anticipated that the successful applicant will:

  • be responsible for collaborating with the technical teams to manage particular long term clients;
- be responsible for leading the business development associated with new or current services, jurisdictions and types of clients; and
- have the ability to maintain/develop technical expertise through involvement with short term consulting or project management assignments.
