What we

do
At Burwood Hospital, the Occupational Therapy staff are embedded into
their ward teams with the benefit from
having close professional support from other Occupational Therapy colleagues
and a dedicated department space. Our Occupational Therapists provide skilled assessment, management and
rehabilitation of a broad range of physical and mental health conditions whilst
supported by Allied Health assistants to achieve positive patient outcomes.
Mō te tūnga | About the role;
This newly
developed Occupational Therapy Clinical Coach role will provide practical
clinical education in the workplace, demonstrating effective, evidence informed
and culturally safe practice. They will work closely with new graduate, junior OTs, new recruitments and OT's
returning to practice.
The Clinical
Coach will support Occupational Therapy based
' Allied Health Assistants across Burwood hospital to support their
transition to confident staff, working at the top of their scope to support
patient flow and outcomes

They will
also be able to work with Occupational Therapists who need to refresh their
clinical skills or knowledge and enable a return to practice.
The Clinical Coach works in a supernumerary capacity and is
responsible for promoting a learning environment within the clinical setting
that encourages and supports development of clinical skills and knowledge,
reducing staff stress, streamlining processes and supporting clinical staff to
feel connected to wider healthcare system objectives
