We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Security Vetting Unit at an operational level to lead, manage and develop one of our Wellington based vetting teams.

In this role you will ensure the secure, efficient delivery of high quality national security clearance recommendations to New Zealand Government agencies.

To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of two years proven experience leading a security vetting team to ensure the team achieves its vetting performance and quality targets.

Your leadership will inspire others to challenge their views and welcome opportunities for change.

In addition, you will be a confident communicator with the ability to build and maintain positive and productive work relationships.


You will also possess the following:

  • Experience in the management of insider threat risks and mitigations, in the context of the Protective Security Requirements (PSR)
  • Effective working relationships with key security vetting stakeholders
  • Planning experience and provision of operational risk management and guidance
  • A continuous improvement and customer experience focus
  • Analytical capabilities, sound judgement and decision making
