What does the job look like?


The Fleet Manager role is a key role, with a significant focus on delivering compliance excellence (incorporating performance-based standards), you will be responsible for providing the most economical and efficient fleet equipment solutions which satisfy the operational needs for Linfox and our customers.

You'll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement strategies, policies and procedures to ensure that our fleet meets the compliance, service, image and financial standards of Linfox.


Key area's:

  • Execute effective strategies with regards to fleet compliance, selection, procurement, appearance and maintenance
  • Identify opportunities to optimise and prolong fleet and equipment use
  • Ensure speedy resolution of any fleet and equipment issues
  • Maintain positive interactions with both internal and external customers to facilitate achievement of objectives and targets for cost and productivity
  • Manage queries regarding transfers, sales and purchases, fleet movements and operating costs
  • Customer presentations and negotiations with respect of new business, regulations, compliance, operating methods, and requirements
  • Prepare asset acquisition requests for new and refurbished fleet
  • Providing management with feedback on equipment, supplier, and performance

You will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Significant experience in Fleet & Compliance management roles within transport and logistics, and a demonstrated record of safety, operational and financial performance
  • Significant experience in managing complex fleet compliance matters (incorporating performancebased standards), including building the capability of internal teams and partnering with designated customers to achieve compliance excellence
  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or related discipline
  • A track record in driving and lifting organisational performance through effective operational leadership
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills ensuring the provision of advice and liaison with management, with a focus on quality reporting delivery
  • Well developed, organisational and project management skills with the capacity to assume responsibility and deliver complex, detail oriented and timeconstrained work to a high standard and on time
  • Ability to innovate and challenge current norms to drive change in the organisation and work with people of varying backgrounds and organisational levels
