About the opportunity


We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Planning Expert to join our PMO (Portfolio Management Office) team as our Planning Lead.

In this highly autonomous role, you will focus on developing, implementing and maintaining the Integrated Portfolio Plan (IPP) for Capital Investments across our Decarbonisation, Wastewater, Remediation & Growth portfolios.

In this newly created position, this is your chance to make this role your own as you work on processes and systems to make sure they are aligned with the end-to-end planning of our capital projects, from initial feasibility through to financial approval, implementation and asset handover.

Reporting to the PMO Performance & Standards Manager, your responsibilities include:

  • Managing the top-down master activities schedule for the PMO and establish key milestones and metrics that will be used to demonstrate efficiency gains.
  • Provide planning and scheduling expertise to drive longterm initiatives processes and system improvements
  • Provide scheduling monitoring and oversight with the Capital Project Managers of the master activities schedule to demonstrate that; "we do what we say we will do" to help build trust within Fonterra
  • Utilise the IPP as a platform to develop a strong trusting relationship with the PMO teams, stakeholders, and our contracting partners while continually improving our peoples planning and scheduling capabilities.
    About you
We're looking for a passionate and analytical individual, who brings great interpersonal skills and strong stakeholders management.

You will be a Planning professional with significant experience under your belt, you'll be comfortable working at pace across a large portfolio and engaging with stakeholders at various levels.

  • Strategic mindset with strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Previous project management experience working with planning and scheduling tools, ideally Primavera
  • Strong influencing skills with an ability to lead continuous improvement and implement change
  • Tertiary qualification in Planning & Scheduling and/or Project Management would be beneficial, but not essential.
