Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) to lead our dynamic department.

The successful candidate will be passionate about language learning and dedicated to inspiring both students and colleagues.
They will demonstrate excellent leadership skills, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration within the MFL department.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the MFL department, providing direction and support to staff members.
Develop and implement engaging and challenging MFL curricula, ensuring alignment with national standards and the school's educational goals.
Monitor student progress and attainment within MFL, implementing strategies to support individual learning needs.
Foster a positive learning environment within the MFL department, promoting a love of languages and cultural understanding.
Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to promote cross-curricular links and enhance the overall educational experience.
Stay abreast of developments in language teaching pedagogy and incorporate best practices into departmental strategies.

Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant undergraduate degree in Modern Foreign Languages or related field.
Proven experience teaching MFL at secondary level, with a track record of student success.
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire colleagues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to engage in continuous improvement.
