About the role:

As an Information Advisor in the Official Information team, your role will be to:

  • Coordinate, advise and support General Managers and the Chief Executive in providing the Council's responses to Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act requests
  • Prepare advice for the Chief Executive regarding Ombudsman Act reviews
  • Support a proactive approach to making official information available to the public
  • Assist in providing timely and accurate answers to Elected Member and members of the public on behalf of the Chief Executive
  • Ensure responses are made in a timely manner to LGOIMA/Ombudsman Act and Elected Member requests
  • Ensure business units collate information within legislated time frames and analyse it to ensure appropriateness and comprehensiveness

What will set you up for success?

  • A tertiary qualification in Law, Public Policy or Administration, Arts or a related field
  • A strong background in a similar environment such as immigration, courts or law, working with information, policies, Acts and/or research
  • Experience in managing multiple projects at any one time
  • Your ability to connect with colleagues and subject experts from across a large organisation
  • Knowledge of the Local Government Act, Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act would be advantageous
