Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role
The Senior Advisor Network manages the programme for implementing enrolment schemes.

This will require supporting the Integrated Service teams with the process, providing advice and guidance as required and managing the consultation process with the community.

The Senior Advisor Network also supports the Education and Infrastructure & Digital teams, Strategic Advisor Māori, the Early Learning and Learning Support teams with planning and implementation of initiatives to support access to equitable and excellent outcomes.


The Senior Advisor Network will:

  • Provide advice and guidance to kaimahi throughout the Ministry and key stakeholders to contribute to improving network outcomes and therefore improved outcomes for students.
  • Work in a collaborative way with stakeholders to support the implementation of network management decisions.
  • Coordinate information collection, planning and consultation processes which support effective network decision making.
  • Assess and report on the effectiveness of Enrolment Scheme implementation.

To be considered for the role, we are looking for:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the NZ education system
  • An understanding of te reo Māori ona tikanga
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across a diverse range of settings
  • Proven ability to use data and insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities. And inform decision making
Mātau rōpū ake | About our ministry, group, and team

At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whanau.

To better deliver on this, we are currently undergoing an organisational design change. The transition phase to improve the way we deliver our purpose will be complete in 2023.

Te Mahau - Te Tai Runga is a frontline group. Our frontline groups collectively provide leadership and integrated services to the sector and others.

This in includes services such as learning support, education advice, regulation and network functions for schools and early learning services.

We do this through coordinating and delivering responsive solutions in order to realise the local education priorities and goals.
