The Product Regulation Branch sits in Medsafe which is within the Ministry of Health.

Medsafe is the national medicines and medical devices safety authority with the role of ensuring that medicines supplied in New Zealand meet acceptable standards of quality, safety and efficacy.

Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
You will provide high quality advice on the quality, safety and efficacy of new and changed medicines. This involves assessing technical dossiers submitted by pharmaceutical companies against local and international requirements and guidelines. Decisions on the approval of medicines are made based on this work. You will also contribute to other activities of the Product Regulation branch.

Ko ngā pukenga ōu - What You'll Bring

  • A tertiary/postgraduate qualification in pharmacy, pharmacology, biomedical science or other health related science
  • Experience working in a regulatory role is desirable
  • Be able to manage your own workload and work as part of a wellmotivated team
  • Ability to think critically, pull together clear ideas and conclusions from large amounts of technical data
  • Use risk assessment to identify and address information gaps or deficiencies
