Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

You will support the Head of Infrastructure Services in the day-to-day management of the security and privacy operations across the organisation, working alongside a Security Analyst. The role will support our leadership team in all areas of cyber security, information security and privacy, as the subject matter expert.

The role is responsible for the organisation's security operations, including third party security operations vendors. The role is also responsible for the privacy function across the organisation, including risk management, data security and will facilitate a network of privacy officers.

Key accountabilities:

  • Support the Head of Infrastructure Services to develop and deliver the organisations security strategy and roadmap.
  • Support the embedding of security by design across the organisation.
  • Ensure security measures and processes align with all of Government practices, guidelines and policies.
  • Ensure security measures and processes are adequately tested and managed.
  • Support and mentor the Security Analyst in the completion of operational security measures.
  • Ensure compliance with Privacy Act and oversee incidents, complaints, and information requests.
  • Support Privacy Office implementation across the organisation.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders on security policies and processes.

To be successful in this role you will need to be:

  • Able to establish and maintain strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Able to communicate technical information effectively, to non-technical experts.
  • Detail orientated and meticulous.
  • Proactive problem solver.

You will also bring:

  • Substantial experience in Security and Privacy operations.
  • Relevant education or equivalent experience in the field.
  • Proven experience implementing All of Government practices, guidelines and policies relating to security, privacy, assurance and risk management.
  • Experience implementing IT and Cyber Security frameworks and best practice.

The successful candidate will be appointed between $84,380 and $105,476depending on capability and we also match up to 4% KiwiSaver contributions.
