Role:

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to play a major part of this company Central Otago growth while helping build and lead a strong, local team. You will be responsible for managing comprehensive project financial controls, contract administration, and progressive cost reporting, ensuring strict commercial compliance throughout all project phases. With your strategic insight and leadership, you will mentor and develop junior quantity surveyors, fostering continuous learning and professional growth within the team.

This role demands strong expertise in risk management, cost forecasting, and negotiation of complex claims including extensions of time and acceleration. You'll collaborate closely with project and commercial managers to analyse delays, manage subcontractor contracts, and uphold best practices aligned with current industry standards. What we are looking for:

  • Previous cost estimation and contract management in Commercial Construction years NZ experience)
  • Understanding of construction laws, regulations and industry standards
  • Strong communicator who is confident dealing with suppliers, contractors and all levels of management
  • Experience in managing large scale commercial projects from inception to completion
  • Added bonus if you are a member of - NZIQS or RICS
