About the business

Douglas Outdoor & Textile Innovation is a well-established and successful company providing a premium range of weather protection solutions for commercial and residential customers.

Douglas, a subsidiary of Sunshade Group, is a local leader in custom Auto & Marine upholstery for both private and commercial customers, as well as custom outdoor living solutions such as louvre roofs and Ziptrak screens.

We also run a nationwide Ziptrak fabrication and distribution operation from our Hastings location.

About the role

The purpose of the role is to perform fabrication, repair and installation jobs as specified by the Production Manager (or their designee) in line with quality and time standards, always complying with company values, objectives and procedures.

Specifically, this role includes but is not limited to the following:

  • To carry out fabrication, repair and installation work undertaken by the company as directed
  • To carry out general workshop duties as directed
  • To attend to customer enquiries as required
  • Adhere to company processes as directed
  • Propose new business opportunities and process improvements
  • Assist with other operations within the Sunshade Group Ltd from time to time
  • Carry out other functions as directed by the Manager

At Sunshade Group we have a focus on our staff achieving the most from their time and we offer a well-supported, engaged focus on having our team reach their heights, via the MAST apprenticeship in Industrial Textiles Fabrication along with further training and qualifications in First Aid, Working at Heights, EWP and Forklift licensing where required.

  • Show maturity in work attitude and dealing with other people
  • Honesty in all dealings
  • Qualification in Industrial Textiles Fabrication Level 3 Cert highly desirable but not a must
