Introduction

Evolve Rehabilitation is seeking dedicated and compassionate Permanent Rehabilitation Assistant to join our residential team in Gisborne. This role operates on a 24/7 rostered and rotating schedule (AM, PM, nights, weekends).

If you're passionate about helping people regain independence after traumatic brain injury or stroke, we'd love to hear from you.

We provide comprehensive on-the-job training, and we actively encourage and support staff to complete their NZQA Health & Wellbeing qualifications.

Description

About the role

As a Rehabilitation Assistant, you will support clients with their daily routines, rehabilitation goals, and personal care, while promoting independence and wellbeing. You will work closely with the Residential Team Leader and wider multidisciplinary team.

You will:

• Implement individual rehabilitation plans

• Support clients with daily living and personal care

• Encourage skill development and independence

• Assist clients to participate in meaningful activities

• Monitor and report progress

• Contribute to the effective running of the residential facility

• Work rostered and rotating shifts across a 24/7 schedule

About you

We're looking for someone with:

  • Strong communication skills and a good command of the English language (written and verbal)
  • Good time management and self-direction
  • A "can-do" mindset and team-focused attitude
  • A clean, full NZ driver's licence
  • Availability to work rostered and rotating shifts (24/7)

It is ideal if you:

  • Hold or are studying towards an NZQA Health & Wellbeing qualification
  • Hold a current first aid certificate
