The Role

We're looking for a Practice Transformation Manager (Accounting
)
to lead firm onboarding, workflow redesign, and successful adoption of Zato within accounting practices.

This is a highly customer-facing role ideal for a CA/CPA or senior accountant who:

  • understands how accounting firms operate
  • knows Xero, workpapers, review processes, and compliance cycles
  • enjoys working directly with clients
  • wants to step into the accounting-tech space
  • thrives in a hands-on, fast-moving environment

You will guide firms through pilots, workflows, demos, training, and full transition into the platform and become their trusted expert and advisor during the transformation journey.

What you'll do

  • Lead onboarding, pilots, demos, and workflow implementation for NZ firms
  • Tailor Zato configurations to each firm's structure, services, and systems
  • Run customer-facing sessions confidently and independently
  • Troubleshoot workflow, integration, or data issues with the product team
  • Support transitions from outsourcing (including Connect clients) into automated workflows
  • Build strong relationships with partners, managers, and accounting teams
  • Track customer progress, adoption, and success metrics
  • Represent the "voice of the accountant" in product discussions
  • Participate in feature rollout and training initiatives
  • Support webinars, events, conferences, and market engagements

What you bring

Essential:

  • Accountant by trade - CA, CPA, or equivalent
  • Recent and strong experience inside a New Zealand accounting practice
  • Strong Xero/XPM knowledge and understanding of CA firm workflows
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
  • Confidence running demos, onboarding, and training sessions
  • Ability to manage multiple firms, deadlines, and priorities
  • Strong problem-solving skills and commercial awareness

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in workflow improvement or practice systems
  • Background in outsourcing or production workflows
  • Exposure to practice management or accounting tech tools
