About the role
This is a chance to join a well-regarded NZ Government agency with an excellent reputation and brand where you'll embed yourself in their established payroll function for the next 12 months.
This role focuses on supporting the company's BAU function and providing expert advice to your internal customer base around any payroll related queries.
The head office is based in the CBD and only a short walk from the train station and public transport links.
Interviews will commence from late January with a prospective start date of mid-February 2026.
What you'll be doing
The Payroll Officer's objective is to provide support on the team's wider delivery for the payroll function and become that first point of contact for any related queries and operational processes.
In order to be successful in this role you must have the following experience:
- At least 3 years of payroll experience in a large corporate environment.
- Experience within a high-volume payroll processing environment
- Comprehension of the Holidays Act, IEAs, and Collective Agreements
- Exposure to complex payroll systems such as Pay Global, SAP or I Payroll
- A keen eye for detail, and high level of accuracy for payroll related data entry
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- The legal right to work in New Zealand.
