Message from the CEO Andrew Crisp
"We are entering an exciting time in the evolution of the organisation. This is a chance to join a great organisation making meaningful impact on the lives of New Zealanders.
We seek highly capable and value-driven individuals who will join the executive team to champion this next chapter. You will work at the nexus of vision and execution, ensuring that our historic values - dignity, fairness, inclusion, self‑advocacy, and mana - continue to guide us even as we adapt to changing policy environments, funding models, and community expectations. Your leadership will help bring coherence, energy, and strategic clarity to our many programmes and subsidiaries, and to galvanise internal and external stakeholders around shared purpose.
This is an extraordinary opportunity to lead in an organisation with deep roots, strong reputation, and a renewed ambition. As an executive, you will be entrusted to safeguard what has come before, while helping shape what comes next."
The Role
IHC is strengthening its organisational capability, culture, and systems to support high-quality services for people with intellectual disabilities. We are seeking a Chief People and Corporate Officer (CPCO) to lead an integrated portfolio spanning people capability, culture, safety, legal, risk, compliance, business improvement, and payroll.
Your Role
The CPCO leads the people and corporate functions that shape IHC's internal environment and organisational health. You will oversee workforce planning, organisational development, employment relations, leadership capability, cultural development, health and safety, legal services, governance support, quality assurance, policy, and risk frameworks.
Key Focus Areas
- Build a positive, values-led organisational culture grounded in safety, wellbeing, and inclusion
- Lead workforce strategy, leadership development, capability building, and ER systems
- Oversee corporate governance processes, legal advice, quality assurance, and compliance
- Strengthen organisational risk, policy, and business improvement systems
- Lead health and safety strategy, ensuring safe, sustainable working environments
About You
You will bring broad executive leadership experience across people, culture, safety, or corporate services. You are confident navigating complexity, influencing system-wide change, and supporting leaders through transformation. You demonstrate sound judgment, deep knowledge of employment and safety legislation, and the ability to shape a supportive environment where people can perform at their best.
