Communications & Fundraising Manager

Weave Hawke's Bay (formerly Napier Family Centre) exists to help whānau along life's journey. Established over 40 years ago, we're a local, community-based organisation with a big heart; our team supports Hawke's Bay people with services including counselling, social work, whānau education, financial mentoring and early childhood education.
Mō te tūnga | About the roleThis is a rare opportunity to step into a strategic leadership role while staying close to the mahi that makes a difference every day.
As our Communications and Fundraising Manager, you'll report directly to the CEO and sit at the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) table, shaping Weave Hawke's Bay's direction, reputation and voice. You'll also be the person who rolls up your sleeves to get the work done.
You'll lead organisation-wide communications, fundraising and engagement, including:
· Setting strategy for communications, fundraising and stakeholder engagement
· Leading grant applications, campaigns and accountability reporting
· Writing key communications and managing digital channels
· Growing individual giving and donor stewardship, including the Annual Appeal
· Acting as brand kaitiaki for Weave and our associated brands: Sunny Days, Bright Futures and CHB Toy Library
· Supporting reputation management, risk communications and managing media relationships
· Delivering annual organisational projects such as the Annual Report and AGM
This is a hands-on, high-impact role with scope to shape how our organisation communicates, connects and grows. You'll thrive here if you enjoy moving between big-picture thinking and day-to-day delivery.
This is a part-time, permanent role with flexible hours between 20–30 hours per week.
Mōu | About youTo succeed in this role, you'll bring a blend of strategic leadership and practical execution. You'll be someone who can think ahead, plan well, collaborate to achieve great outcomes - and then independently deliver high-quality work.
You will have:
· Significant experience in communications, marketing or fundraising
· Experience leading or delivering fundraising activity (grants, campaigns, donor relations)
· Confidence managing digital channels, social media and website content
· Ability to build trusted relationships with donors, stakeholders and community partners
· Strong writing skills and an ability to tell stories that demonstrate our impact
· A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and willingness to grow your bicultural practice
· A self-starting approach with excellent organisation and follow-through
· The confidence and good judgement to contribute meaningfully at an ELT level
Not-for-profit or community sector experience is a bonus, but not essential - what matters most is your commitment to using your skills to make a difference for whānau across Hawke's Bay.
He aha ai mātou? | Why us?
When you join Weave Hawke's Bay, you become part of a compassionate, collaborative and values-led team. You'll enjoy:
· A role with genuine strategic influence across the organisation
· The variety and autonomy to lead projects from concept to delivery
· A supportive CEO and Executive Leadership Team
· Professional development opportunities and wellbeing benefits
· Work that contributes to the wellbeing of whānau and tamariki in our region
This is a unique chance to bring your expertise into an organisation where your mahi has real impact, both within the organisation and out in the community.
Te tono | How to applyIf you're excited by a role that mixes strategic leadership with real, sleeves-rolled-up mahi, we'd love to hear from you.
