About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi
As a Senior Fraud Investigator within ACC's Fraud Prevention & Investigations team, you'll play a vital role in protecting the integrity and sustainability of the ACC scheme. You'll lead complex investigations into suspected external fraud and abuse, working independently and collaboratively to ensure allegations are addressed professionally, ethically, and in line with best practice.
Reporting to the Lead Investigator, you'll manage end-to-end investigations, from gathering evidence and conducting formal interviews, to preparing prosecution files and working alongside Crown Prosecutors. Your work will involve identifying patterns in fraudulent behaviour, contributing to fraud prevention initiatives, and supporting the education of others in investigative best practice.
This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, a commitment to continuous learning, and the ability to travel across New Zealand, sometimes at short notice, when needed.

- At least two years of experience investigating serious crime, ideally involving complex financial crime.
- Experience in interpreting and using data to draw insights and identify investigative pathways.
- In depth understanding of criminal investigative best practice and relevant legal implications for investigators, the prosecution process, the Solicitor General's guidelines and electronic case management.
- Experience or qualifications in formal interviewing techniques using the PEACE model.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to track and coordinate several complex investigations concurrently.
- Flexible and calm under pressure, with the ability to adapt quickly in dynamic environments.

The appointing salary for this role will sit between $101,287 and $131,077 and we offer an additional 9% superannuation contribution. ACC offer a comprehensive benefits package, including an advantageous superannuation scheme with features like 0% contribution required by you, optional life and income protection insurance, and the flexibility to change to a locked plan at any time, ensuring your financial security now and in retirement.
