About the role

We're seeking a motivated External Salesperson to join our Christchurch team. This permanent role offers strong growth opportunities across our Steel, Engineering Steels, Stainless, and Aluminium divisions. You'll represent our brand across the Canterbury region, building relationships and driving new business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drive new business growth by identifying and securing opportunities
  • Grow and manage an existing customer portfolio
  • Consistently achieve and exceed sales targets and KPIs
  • Deliver outstanding customer service with expert product knowledge
  • Work with internal teams to provide tailored solutions
  • Track market trends and competitor activity to stay ahead
  • Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30am–5:00pm

Requirements

  • Proven sales success in a target-driven environment (minimum 2 years' experience)
  • Strong relationship management and negotiation skills
  • New business development with a "hunter" mindset
  • Knowledge of the building or construction industry (advantageous)
  • Experience managing budgets and achieving targets
  • Intermediate–advanced computer and solid numerical skills
