We are looking for a capable Maintenance Engineer who enjoys solving problems, working with high-speed production equipment, and helping keep a manufacturing plant running at its best. If you like a hands-on role where safety, reliability, and quality truly matter, this is a great opportunity to make a real impact.
About the Role
In this role, you will keep our production and packaging equipment performing at a high standard, including dryers, sachet machines, pouch fillers, and supporting utilities. You'll troubleshoot issues, carry out planned maintenance, and help improve our processes so we can deliver safe, high-quality products consistently.
You will work closely with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and external service partners, contributing your technical expertise to reduce downtime and lift overall equipment efficiency.
This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive salary of $85,000 per year.
What You Will Be Doing
- Maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot key plant equipment (dryers, sachet and pouch lines, HVAC, compressed air, nitrogen systems).
- Carry out preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Respond quickly to mechanical and electrical faults across the lines.
- Set and adjust sealing parameters for consistent packaging quality.
- Apply SMED and Lean tools to reduce waste and improve changeover times.
- Support continuous improvement and reliability projects.
- Work to GMP, HACCP, HSWA 2015, and food safety requirements.
- Keep maintenance and calibration records accurate and audit-ready.
- Support MPI, WorkSafe, and customer audit activities.
- Promote safe work behaviors, including LOTO and hazard identification.
What You Will Bring
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Trade Certificate (or equivalent).
- 3+ years' maintenance engineering experience, with at least 2 years in dairy, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards.
- Experience with sachet/pouch machinery and high-speed packaging equipment.
- Skilled in diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults (PLCs, VFDs, servo systems, sensors).
- Familiar with packaging materials (PET, PE, ALU, laminated films) and automation/process control.
- Experience using CMMS, predictive maintenance tools, and Lean/Six Sigma methods.
Who You Are
- A calm practical problem-solver who enjoys working under pressure.
- Someone who communicates clearly and works well with different teams.
- Detail-focused with strong documentation habits.
- Committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving production environment.
Why Join Us
- A team culture where your ideas and expertise are valued.
- Opportunities to grow your skills and contribute to meaningful improvements.
- A workplace committed to safety, quality, and looking after its people.
