We are seeking an experienced Driver Operator to join our Roading team in Gisborne. In this position, you'll be responsible for safely operating a range of plant and machinery, including rollers and excavators, across our roading projects. You'll play a key role in ensuring all work is carried out to the highest safety standards and in line with industry best practice. Flexibility is important, as you will be expected to switch between operating rollers and, where required, a water truck.
In addition to the above you will:
- Drive and operate machinery, plant and equipment in a professional and safe manner
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with the relevant job and work instruction
- Always be aware of your surroundings and conscious of the safety and wellbeing of others
- Take part in pre-start meetings - understand the hazards on site and the plan to control them, always speak up if not sure

We're looking for someone with:
- Full Class 1 Licence, class 4 will be advantageous
- Wheels, Tracks & Rollers (WTR) endorsement
- Sound roading construction knowledge and relevant skills
- Sound understanding of site safety and hazard management
- Self-motivated, can-do attitude and a team player
- Excellent communication with co-workers and management
