We're looking for a Credit Risk Lead to join our Build and Run My Business Tribe — someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, brings strong credit expertise, and is motivated to drive continuous improvement across our risk and lending ecosystem.

This role is 6-months fixed term.

Mō te Tūranga | About the role:

Every day, you'll work alongside our nCino squads and Financial Risk team to make sure we're delivering on key priorities, managing risk effectively, and enabling the best banker experience possible. You'll:

  • Support the delivery of Line 1 credit risk related nCino project requirements and tribe priorities.
  • Identify, document, and escalate risks and issues in a timely and proactive way.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to strengthen risk management and control practices.
  • Influence and coach peers to promote a strong, forward-looking risk culture.
  • Support delivery of Line 1 Financial Risk initiatives, focusing on credit policy, process improvement, and control enhancements.
  • Build capability across the team and foster a continuous learning mindset.

Ō pūkenga | About You

You're an experienced banking professional with strong credit and risk management skills, a sharp analytical mind, and a collaborative spirit. You'll also have:

  • 3-5+ years' experience in SME, Rural, or Commercial banking.
  • Deep understanding of ASB Credit Policy (consumer and business lending).
  • Proven ability to influence and build relationships across all levels.
  • Excellent judgement, attention to detail, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organisational and analytical capability, with a focus on process improvement.
  • Courage to challenge the status quo and contribute to better outcomes for customers and the bank.
