Your Role:

As a Field Service Technician, you will be a cornerstone of our technical service division. Reporting to the Service Manager and working alongside technicians in both Auckland and Wellington, your mission is to deliver top-notch technical support and service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation & Commissioning: Set up and launch new X-Ray systems and detection equipment.
  • Customer Interaction: Assist the sales team with technical demonstrations and foster customer relationships.
  • Excellent job preparation skills: Understanding everything you will need on the job, and then taking it all with you
  • Organisational skills: including meticulous record-keeping abilities, produce timely and detailed service reports
  • Training: Conduct training sessions for customers, and Service Team colleagues as required.
  • Maintenance: Schedule and execute planned preventative maintenance programs.
  • Repairs: Address on-call service and repair tasks promptly. Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
  • Customer Support: Build positive customer relationships and understand their needs to make appropriate recommendations.
  • Team work: Cooperate with others in the technical team and share information across the organisation
  • Continuous Development: carry out product and service research and understand Tactical's offering in the marketplace

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualifications:
  • Registration with the NZ EWRB
  • Level 3 NZ Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Electrical Appliance and Electronic Servicing) or Electrotechnology
  • Clean NZ Driver's licence
  • Clean Police employment vetting check
  • NZ citizenship or residency
  • Skills & Qualities:
  • Willingness to travel frequently and on short notice
  • Close attention to Health & Safety requirements
  • Service-oriented mindset with a knack for prioritising customer needs
  • Good spatial awareness, seeing the bigger picture on the job
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and good PC skills
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ingenuity and common sense
  • Experience:
  • Practical experience in electrical/electronic trades, IT service, X-Ray and detection equipment, or technical field service work
  • IT/software and hardware application problem-solving is a plus
  • Comfort with working under camera surveillance. Able to work under time and physical space pressure with varied and random additional constraints on occasion e.g. customers' clients in close proximity to the workspace
  • Specific training will be provided to familiarise you with Tactical Solutions' service equipment
