Nursing lecturer fixed term parental leave cover

We are seeking a fixed-term Nursing Lecturer to join our School of Nursing in Taradale, Napier, from 12 January 2026 to 14 August 2026. This role reports to the Assistant Head of School / Practicum Manager – Nursing. This is an opportunity to bring your clinical and teaching experience into mahi that reflects our values and vision, and to play a meaningful part in shaping what comes next for our ākonga and communities.

The appointing salary for this role is up to $89,639, dependent on skills and experience.

The Nursing Lecturer is based in our School of Nursing

EIT reporting to the Assistant Head of School / Practicum Manager – Nursing and will be responsible for:

• Delivering high-quality teaching in nursing theory and practice.
• Facilitating student learning through diverse methods, including online and practical experiences.
• Supporting curriculum development and contributing to new course creation.
• Maintaining accurate student records and complying with academic regulations.
• Developing and moderating assessments to ensure reliability and validity.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A current practising certificate as a Registered Nurse (essential).
• Bachelor of Nursing (essential); postgraduate qualification (desired).
• Nursing practice experience and tertiary teaching experience (desired).
• Mātauranga Māori knowledge and commitment to cultural safety.
• Experience in curriculum development and blended learning delivery.
