We have an exciting opportunity for an Air Quality Technician to join our Air Quality department. This role is perfect for someone passionate about environmental science and keen to make a real impact.

As an Air Quality Technician, you will play a key role in collecting accurate, reliable, and consistent odour samples. You'll work with sampling systems and instruments at various sites across New Zealand, including industrial facilities such as wastewater treatment plants. You'll also contribute to a range of environmental and indoor air quality monitoring projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organise and manage the odour laboratory, including operation of the olfactometer.
  • Coordinate and roster odour panelists.
  • Undertake sampling at multiple sites throughout New Zealand.
  • Calibrate and maintain instrumentation.
  • Conduct odour assessments and nose calibrations.
  • Submit samples for analysis, perform calculations, and report results.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Science or Engineering (preferably Chemistry or Environmental).
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel within New Zealand.
  • A full driver's licence (manual gearbox).

You'll also need to be physically fit for occasional heavy lifting and comfortable working at heights.
